2. Finding the Happiness We are Looking For.

To be happy is doing things, which gives us the deepest, most exquisite feeling of joy. When we do something for others we could get away without doing, but we still do it, nevertheless, because something in us tells us that we must, it makes us really happy.

William Lyon Phelps, creative thinker, writer and teacher, once said, " He is the happiest man who thinks the most interesting thoughts. A well-ordered life is like climbing a tower; the view halfway up is better than the view from the base, and it steadily becomes finer as the horizon expands". In the words of Marcus Aurelius, "Very little is needed to make a happy life. It is all within yourself, in your way of thinking".

Let us all try and make our best efforts to start thinking good and positive things. Let us consciously unfold the happiness, from within ourselves. Life is too short in this world not to be happy, So let us not lose the opportunity. As the Arabian proverb goes, "Four things come not back - the spoken word, the sped arrow, the past life and the neglected opportunity".

3. YOU ARE SO MUCH MORE

You are not your car.

You are not your job.

You are not your bank account. These things are useful, and they help you

to make your way through the world, but they do not define you.

You are not your problems.

You are not your failures.

You are not your appointments.

These things challenge you and can ultimately help you to grow, but they do not have to limit you.

You are the child who danced in the sunshine, the young person who dreamed of changing the world. You are the admirer of all the beauty around you, a spirit who cannot be tied down. You are the best that you can imagine, a bundle of possibilities yearning to be fulfilled.

The shallow, superficial things will define or limit you only to the extent that you let them. Pay attention to them, but don't give your life to them. You are so much more.

4. I Asked God

I asked God to take away my pain.

God said, "No, It is not for me to take away, but for you to give it up".

I asked God to make my handicapped child whole.

God said, "No, her spirit was whole, her body was only temporary".

I asked God to grant me patience.

God said, "No, patience is a by-product of tribulations; it isn't granted, it is earned".

I asked God to give me happiness.

God said, "No, I give you blessings. Happiness is up to you".

I asked God to spare me pain.

God said, "No, suffering draws you apart from worldly cares and brings you closer to me".

I asked God to make my spirit grow.

God said, "No, you must grow on your own, but I will prune you to make you fruitful".

I asked for all things that I might enjoy life.

God said, "No, I will give you life so that you may enjoy all things".

I ask God to help me love others, as much as he loves me.

God said, "... Ahhhh, finally you have the idea".
